MailSizr Fact Sheet

MailSizr is a Performance Analysis and Sizing framework for servers hosting Mail Applications conforming to popular Internet Protocol specifications (RFCs). MailSizr helps the Architect/System Engineer to easily characterize the Performance, Scalability and Sizing of the following Mail Applications. Application developers (who develop mail-enabled applications) use MailSizr to engineer high-performance applications.

  • POP (Post Office Protocol) Version3 - POP3
  • IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) Version4 - IMAP4
  • SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)
  • NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol)
MailSizr is not only a server measurement tool but it can also help you simulate client behavior by modeling think times and client processing times using 'events'.

MailSizr scripts can be automatically generated using Technovations NetCorder, which is capable of recording transactions between mail clients and the mail server.

MailSizr packs a command set to support the transactional nature of message transfer and delivery using the above protocols. It also allows manipulation of various user and network settings and gives the tester an ability to collect detailed timing statistics. It also captures the data elements of the overall transaction.

MailSizr also comes with a documentation wizard that writes the result output to a HTML document that can be browsed/analyzed later.
